The horse is one of two extan subspecies of Equus ferus. It is an odd toed ungulate mamal belonging to the taxonomic family Equidae. The horse has evolved over the past 45 to 55 million years from a small multi-toed creature, Eohippus, into the large, single-toed animal of today.
The horse has so many species....They have 350 breed of horse....there are Light Horses Horses with small bones and thin legs which weigh less than 1300 pounds. Some examples are: Thoroughbreds
they can doze and enter light sleep while standing, an adaptation from life as a prey animal in the wild. Lying down makes an animal more vulnerable to predators. Horses are able to sleep standing up because a "stay apparatus" in their legs allows them to relax their muscles and doze without collapsing.
